We are looking for experienced Civil Leading Hands to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across utilities, bulk earthworks and road construction.
This role will see you take the lead on site, guiding crews to deliver works safely, efficiently and to specification.
About the Role
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site activities, organising labour and plant, and leading crews across active civil work fronts.
You will play a key role in maintaining safety standards, meeting daily production targets and ensuring works are completed to quality requirements while maintaining positive relationships with clients and the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct crews undertaking civil works including water, sewer, drainage and associated infrastructure
- Coordinate plant, labour and materials to achieve daily and short-term program targets
- Monitor site productivity and assist in managing progress and costs
- Maintain accurate daily records and provide clear updates to supervisors
- Promote and uphold WHS, environmental and quality compliance
- Assist with incident reporting, hazard identification and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
- Trade qualified with experience in civil or utilities construction
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working on utilities projects (water, sewer, drainage preferred)
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements, particularly when working around live services
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews and effectively prioritise daily tasks
- Clear communicator with basic computer skills for reporting
- Current driver’s licence, First Aid certificate and White Card (classroom based)
